White Orchid School was founded in 2003 by our passionate owner, Mrs. Barbara Kathleen Blah. Driven by a deep love for children and a vision to fill a need in the community, she established this private school as a dedicated space for every child to thrive, learn, and grow. Our core philosophy is captured in our school slogan: Simple in virtue, Steadfast in duty. This means we focus on teaching fundamental virtues (like kindness, honesty, and respect) in a clear, uncomplicated way, while instilling a firm, unwavering sense of duty toward their learning, community, and personal responsibilities. About the Owner

She was not just the founder of this institution; she was its heartbeat. She dreamed of a place where children could learn, grow, and become the best versions of themselves. Through tireless dedication, education, compassion, and sacrifice, she turned that dream into reality in the year 2003. She laid the first bricks, shaping the future. For many, she was a mother figure to the children who found warmth in her smile, strength in her guidance, and safety in the nurturing environment she built.

Our Dedicated Team

We are proud to have a passionate team of over 14 dedicated educators and support staff, including experienced headmistresses, primary teachers, and specialized instructors for Khasi language, art, and basic science. This strong team ensures a low student-to-teacher ratio and provides the personalized attention and enriching programs that make White Orchid School special.
